DALLAS – Dallas College Cedar Valley women's soccer team beat Dallas College Eastfield 4-1 Friday as head coach John Antonisse collected his 300th career college coaching victory.
In 27 seasons, Antonisse has 291 wins on the women's side and nine as a men's coach. He is 27-25-3 in four seasons at Cedar Valley.
Cedar Valley (4-3-2, 2-3-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) avenged an early season loss to Eastfield to begin the second half of conference play.
Victory Oyoyo Peter and Celeste Gonzalez each scored a goal, and had an assist in Friday's win. Oyoyo Peter has five goals this season. She scored at the 28:23 mark on an assist from Gonzalez to tie the game at 1-1.
Gonzalez gave the Suns the lead two minutes later when Oyoyo Peter connected with her. It was Gonzalez's second gamewinning goal this year and fourth overall.
Claire Rodriguez and Jocelyn Botello scored unassisted goals in the second half as the Suns padded the lead. Botello notched an Olimpico goal, scoring off the corner kick.
Cedar Valley had seven corner kicks. Eastfield attempted four.
The Suns had 28 shots, half of them on goal.
Cedar Valley goalkeeper Danna Vargas made nine saves in the win.
The Suns will play at Dallas College North Lake 4 p.m. Friday.
