Minnitt Wins Second DAC Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Tynia Minnitt was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the second time this season she's received the honor.

A 5-foot-4 freshman guard from Waco, Texas, Minnitt averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, four assists and three steals as No. 10 Cedar Valley won two games last week. She shot 51 percent from the field, going 16 of 31. Minnitt was 6 of 12 from three-point distance. She had 23 points, 14 rebounds, including six offensive boards, four assists and five steals in a win over Nelson University Junior Varsity. Minnitt followed that up with 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal in a DAC win over Dallas College Mountain View.

She is averaging 12.3 points, four rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game.

Cedar Valley (11-9, 3-0 DAC) plays at No. 13 Dallas College Richland (8-9, 1-1) at 6 p.m. Thursday to finish conference play.
