Dallas College Cedar Valley women's basketball players Shandrea Yeldell, Sierra Headquist and Jade Pratt signed national letters of intent to continue their careers.
Yeldell, a 5-foot-7 freshman guard from Dallas, signed with the University of North Texas at Dallas. Headquist, a 6-3 sophomore center from Plano, Texas, signed with Xavier University of Louisiana. Pratt, a 6-0 freshman guard from Arlington, Texas, signed with Life University in Georgia.
Yeldell, an NJCAA Division III Third Team All-American and the Dallas Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, averaged 17.3 points, 4.2 assists and 3.6 steals per game.
"Shandrea is a very talented young lady, who has to continue making meaningful decisions," Cedar Valley head coach Latasha Keith said. "She can go far with her athleticism and that confidence. We're super proud of Shandrea. We want to see her win, on and off the court."
Headquist, a Second Team All-DAC selection, averaged 13.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.
"We're super proud of Sierra to continue her education and athletic career at Xavier University of Louisiana," Keith said. "Sierra is an exceptional athlete who works really hard on the floor. I challenge Sierra to be a leader every step of her life."
Pratt, who earned First Team All-DAC Academic and Commissioner's List honors, appeared in 19 games, starting three for the Suns.
"Jade is a hard worker," Keith said. "She's very coachable and determined. With her grades, I always told her it would get her further. When it comes to the basketball side, she's determined to get better, and wants to get better. We're super excited for Jade to have a full year and to listen in as far as how important it is as a student-athlete, and how far it will take you on your journey."
