Dallas College Cedar Valley's Nakia Brumley was named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

A 5-foot-6 sophomore guard from Dallas, Brumley averaged 19.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.3 steals and three rebounds, and had a block as No. 7 nationally-ranked Cedar Valley went 3-0 last week. She shot 44.2 percent from the field, going 23 of 52, and 78.5 percent from the free throw line, going 11 of 14, in the three wins.

Brumley scored a career-high 28 points on 11 of 16 field goal and 5 of 5 free throw shooting, had five assists, four rebounds and four steals in a 94-70 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity Tuesday. She had 19 points, seven assists, six steals and three rebounds in a 114-63 victory over Dallas College Richland Thursday. She had 12 points, eight assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block in an 89-79 win over SWAGU JV Monday.

Brumley is averaging 16.1 points, 4.9 assists and 3.4 steals per game.

Cedar Valley (13-3, 3-0 DAC) will host Dallas Christian College 6 p.m. Tuesday, and will meet DAC rival Dallas College Mountain View on the road 6 p.m. Thursday.
