Men's Basketball Picks Up Win Entering Holidays

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's men's basketball team will take a three-week break for the holidays after beating Texas Wesleyan University Junior Varsity Monday.

The Suns improved to 4-8, following an 86-75 win over Texas Wesleyan JV.

Isaiah Sobers scored 19 points, and had five rebounds and a steal. Malik Conley had 15 points, nine rebounds and a steal. Charles Walker had 12 points, and Keshon Kittrell 10 points, six assists, six boards, a block and a steal as the Suns put together a balanced effort.

Cedar Valley was 24 of 31 from the free throw line. The Suns shot 47.5 percent from the field, going 29 of 61.

The Suns outscored Texas Wesleyan JV, 44-30, in the first half, and held off TWU's comeback bid.

Cedar Valley will return to the court Jan. 6 at Collin County Community College. The Suns host Southwestern Assemblies of God University JV 6 p.m. Jan. 9 as part of a week in which they will open a three-game homestand.
