Ferguson to Play for Title Friday
LANCASTER, Texas – Cade Ferguson will play for a title Friday night.
Ferguson, "TheF3RG," swept his National Junior College Athletic Association eSports Madden 25 Tier 1 semifinal best-of-3 series against Harrisburg Area Community College, 2-0, Thursday night at Dallas College Cedar Valley's gaming room. TheF3RG grinded out a 23-20 victory in the first game when his Houston Texans beat the Philadelphia Eagles. His Detroit Lions team beat the Green Bay Packers, 49-41, in the second game to clinch the series.
In the first game, Ferguson forced a field goal before halftime in a game without any margin for error. His Texans' defense came up with a big stop late in a field goal-difference win.
In the second game, TheF3RG's Lions gashed the Packers with big plays, including a touchdown pass that broke a 21-21 tie. He eventually built a two-score lead, which he didn't relinquish until late.
Ferguson will play for the Fall national championship 7 p.m. Friday. The 3-of-5 series will stream on the Cedar Valley channel.
