Garcia Named Gold Glove Award® Winner

GOLD GLOVE AWARD® WINNERS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Cedar Valley outfielder Rendon Garcia was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove Award® winner.

A sophomore from Waxahachie, Texas, Garcia had a 1.000 fielding percentage in 53 games this season. He had 130 putouts and five assists in 135 fielding chances. In his two-year Suns' career, Garcia compiled a .978 fielding percentage in 105 games, with 278 chances, recording 256 putouts and 16 assists. All six of his errors came as a freshman.

Garcia had 14 doubles, two triples, a home run, 37 runs batted in, 12 stolen bases and 52 runs scored, while rapping 47 hits to put together a .258 average this season. In his career, he was a .293 hitter with 103 hits in 105 games. He batted .331 as a freshman.
