Brown Chosen as DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Blake Brown was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore right-hander from Waco, Texas, Brown pitched 4.1 innings, striking out a career-high nine batters, while allowing a run on five hits and a walk in a 21-9 win over Dallas College Richland. He held the Thunnderducks off the board in three of his four full innings on the mound on his way to his third win of the season.

Brown (3-3) has 36 strikeouts in 35.1 innings pitched this season. In addition to his three wins on the hill, he also has one save.

Cedar Valley (16-28, 5-19 DAC) is scheduled to meet Dallas Christian College Junior Varsity in a doubleheader on the road 1 p.m. Tuesday before beginning a three-game series with Dallas College Brookhaven (20-25, 13-11) in the DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network 12 p.m. Wednesday at Lancaster High School.
