Suns Collect Five All-DAC Honors
DALLAS – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Aiden Hatton and Hayden Carpenter earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.
Suns teammates Keller Thompson, Mateo Carrasco and Jacob Cueva were Second Team All-DAC choices.
A freshman third baseman from Burleson, Texas, Hatton batted .358 with 18 doubles, four home runs, 42 runs batted in and 14 stolen bases. He had a season-high four hits at Dallas College Brookhaven March 27, while driving in six runs against Dallas College Mountain View April 24.
Carpenter, a freshman outfielder from Magnolia, Texas, batted .382 with 11 home runs, 63 RBI and 18 doubles. He collected four hits against Redlands Community College Feb. 23, while driving in seven runs against Dallas College Eastfield April 19 when he cranked two home runs, including a grand slam and a walk-off three-run shot to end the game in eight innings.
A sophomore right handed starting pitcher from Mount Pleasant, Texas, Thompson went 6-4 with a 5.84 earned run average and 78 strikeouts in 69.1 innings. He fanned a season-high nine batters at Dallas College Mountain View.
A freshman right handed relief pitcher from Lake Jackson, Texas, Carrasco was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 24 innings. He made 10 appearances before missing the second half of the season. Carrasco had three strikeouts in three games.
A sophomore second baseman from Houston, Cueva batted .373 with five doubles, a triple, a home run, 34 RBI and 16 stolen bases. He had a season-high four hits against Dallas College North Lake April 12 and in a win over No. 2 Dallas College Eastfield April 18.
