The CVC Baseball Team won their first MAC series of the season, after defeating the Eastfield Harvesters, 2-1 in the three-game showcase. The Suns claimed games one and three, only dropping game two.
In the second game of the series, CVC was unable to carry game one's momentum, falling 12-2 to EC. Jesse Mendoza and Alex Bush each earned a run for the Suns. Daniel Quintanilla and Mendoza both had two hits.
To close out the series, the Suns had one of their best showings of the season with a 15-5 victory over the Harvesters. Alex Garcia had a strong stat line of three hits, two runs, five RBIs and a home run. Samuel Marianos also hit a home run, with Mendoza having a three-hit outing. Tylor Frailey and Jesus Payan each had a team-high three runs.
Shannon Broussard went all seven innings on the mound, totaling five strikeouts, moving his season record to 3-0.
Cedar Valley will face Jarvis Christian College (J.V.) in a doubleheader rematch this Monday in Hawkins, TX.
