Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match

The CVC Volleyball Team took a break from Metro Athletic Conference play, when they hosted Houston Community College and Seminole State College during their "Dig Pink!" weekend.

In the first contest of the tri-match, CVC won in straight sets over HCC (25-19, 25-6, 25-7). Cali Odom led with 15 kills and Haleigh Rodriguez dished out 21 assists. Carsyn Ivy also registered double digit assists with 20, while Brenda Duran had a 14 kill, nine dig after noon.

The Lady Suns completed the sweep of the visiting teams, with a four set victory over SSC (25-17, 26-24, 19-25, 25-21). Odom and Duran each had 11 kills, with Duran adding a team high 16 digs. Rodriguez and Ivy combined for 40 assists in the win. Makayla Brisco engineered a stat line of nine kills and nine digs.

CVC will continue MAC play this Monday, October 24, when they travel to face Richland College at 7:00 p.m.

In their last meeting with the Thunderducks, the Lady Suns were defeated in four sets earlier this season.

This will be the last regular season match for CVC, before the Metro Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday, October 26.
